Dodge Ridge is a favorite because it is small and people don't have the "attitude" you find at some of the Tahoe resorts. It's proximity to the Bay Area is a draw, as is the generally shorter distance to drive after hitting snow than 50/80. One day last winter I met the owner's wife out in front of the ticket window greeting people and answering questions. Mayberry, yes, "Attitude Alps" ... no!
Favorite Discount: Discount ski p***es at SaveMart in Oakdale or Sonora ($39 vs. $48 at Dodge).
Favorite Dodge Service: Kids ski/board school. The best by far. My shy daughter loved it, and gained a lot of confidence.
Favorite Secrets: Cinnamon Rolls at Andy's in MiWuk Village (usually weekends only). The Serene Bean coffee, by the Pinecrest Post Office (go toward the lake after turning off 108 instead of up the road to Dodge).
Favorite Pizza: Pie In The Sky - Sierra Village
Favorite Chair: 8 ... it's a quad, not the fastest, but never much of a line and some great runs off this one.
